The Barcelona Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in Europe and is considered the most important Mediterranean-themed aquarium. It has an 80-metre-long underwater tunnel that allows visitors to walk under more than 5 million gallons of water and admire thousands of marine species.
Products used
Penetron's crystalline technology was responsible for preventing the penetration of chlorides (from salt water) and increasing durability in the tunnels and tanks. PENETRON was installed to waterproof the tanks and aquariums, the foundation floor and the lift wells. In addition, the roof and the entrance area of the aquarium were treated against corrosion.
