St Joseph's College Memorial Pool
The St. Joseph's College Memorial Pool Redevelopment project, which started in 2020, aims to upgrade the school's aging 50-foot pool to an Olympic-class facility. The project, which cost $30 million, involved the construction of an 8-lane, 51.5 meter long pool with a depth ranging from 1.1 meters to 2.0 meters. This pool can be transformed into a 25-metre-long recreational pool and a FINA-standard water polo pool (with a portable dividing tree). In addition, the project included a tread around the pool, a two-story building (for multi-purpose spaces, offices, storerooms and a basement with pool installations) and landscape work.

Products used
Penetron Australia was asked by FDC Construction, the general contractor, to provide a sustainable waterproofing solution for the underground concrete pool structures. PENETRON, a topical crystalline waterproofing material, was mixed in a layer of slurry and applied to concrete pool surfaces by Firmstone Flooring, a specialist flooring company and approved Penetron contractor. This process closes hairline cracks and protects the concrete against water penetration. The construction joints and penetrations of the swimming pool were also treated with PENECRETE MORTAR, a crystalline waterproofing mortar, to complete the waterproofing system.
