Ansys Hall at Carnegie Mellon University - Engineering College
Ansys, an American simulation software company, and Carnegie Mellon University have collaborated on an entirely new educational facility where students, faculty, and collaborative partners innovate and interact with advanced simulation and manufacturing technologies. The 3,300-square-foot building has tall glass walls with a garage door and open learning spaces that are connected by a spacious mezzanine walkway. Facilities include a design studio, teaching laboratories for technology, manufacturing tools and workshops, a computer cluster and multiple collaborative spaces with lots of natural light.

Products used
The preparation of approximately 5,000 ft² of floor space was carried out by Mosites Construction, an approved PSP certified applicator. As a first step, PRIMER STX 100, an adhesive, was used to prepare the floors for another layer of LEVELINE 15, a self-leveling subfloor, to create a flat and even surface. PENESEAL FH, a clear, reactive penetrating sealer, was then applied to protect the LEVELINE 15 layer from other work that was still underway during the final phase of construction — as the final floor was only installed on the newly cast LEVELINE 15 after completion of this phase.
