Self-healing concrete by Penetron in Rotterdam's RottaNova project

RottaNova is currently rising between the iconic Market Hall and the Hoogstraat. In one of the basement walls, experiments are being carried out with Penetron Admix SB, a crystalline additive that has a self-healing effect. The test setup marks an important step towards more sustainable and future-proof construction with low-maintenance and circular concrete structures. By adding Penetron Admix SB directly to the concrete mix, a watertight structure is created without additional layers or coatings. With this technology, Penetron is the world market leader.
