Subway Line 4 South
Due to the expected increase in public transport for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the city has made major investments in infrastructure. Investments in the construction of the metro are the most significant, and new lines are appearing, such as Line 4, which will connect Barra da Tijuca (west) to Ipanema (south zone) and carry more than 300,000 people per day. Line 4 is 16 km long and includes 6 new stations.

The biggest challenge of this metro line extension was that the line runs through sandy soil with a large presence of water. This was mainly a problem at stations that were built with a sheet pile and a pressurized plate. At stations that used plates, such as Our Lady of Peace, Antero de Quental, Jardim de Alah, and Garden Ocean, PENETRON ADMIX and PENEBAR SW-55 were essential to achieve superior protection and watertightness performance.
